Since summer 2015 I am the Chief Operating Officer in-charge of all operations including administration, financials, human resources, and sponsored programs - federal, state, institutional, foundations, and industry. I am humbled by the projects I have successfully closed-out, in particular, 46 projects of AFIRM-I that included the face transplant clinical trials project, which was featured in the National Geographic. Annually, I assess the transition and commercialization of 60 projects of AFIRM-II, and assign Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) to each product. Additionally, I am fortunate to utilize my scientific background, and my industry experience with medical device products’ invention and development, for workforce development programs at the center. I led the ‘needs assessment’ project for ARMI, was the co-Director of the NJ Life Sciences Talent Development Center, and since 2017 am the founding Director of the Biofabrication and Biomanufacturing Workforce Development initiative at Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences.
